Richmond players announce Hamton?s Tigerland project the place to be.

Star Richmond football players, Mark Coughlan and Brett Deledio, have snapped up townhouses at ‘Rize’, a Richmond contemporary townhouse project by award winning developer, Hamton.

Designed by award winning architectural firm, Rothe Lowman, Deledio purchased a two bedroom/ two bathroom townhouse while Coughlan, the 2003 Jack Dyer Best and Fairest Medallist, snaffled a three bedroom/ three bathroom with study townhouse. Both townhouses were sold by Hamton in excess of half a million dollars.

The cutting edge project comprises 72, two and three level townhouses. It is situated at 1-21 Kent Street & 10-24 Buckingham Street just, 300 metres from the restaurants at Victoria Street and close to Bridge Road.

Most townhouses offer flexible ground floor spaces, appropriate for a home-office, gym, or car park space, and some boast access to expansive rooftop terraces. Prices range from $395,000 to $682,000.

The men said they were excited to have purchased properties within Tigerland.

“I have been playing with Richmond since 2001 and I know the area very well.   It’s a great, eclectic suburb with a lot going on and a vibe all of its own, which is a large part of the reason I was attracted to Rize – its location and design. It’s a development that’s ultra contemporary in design but blends into the Richmond environment which is a mix of warehouses, little terrace homes and leafy streets – Richmond has a deep undercurrent and soul which I see Rize embracing,” Coughlan said.

Deledio, who was the 2004 NAB AFL Draft Priority Selection and winner of the 2005 NAB Rising Star Medal, said he was attracted to the development’s architectural design.

“I like strong architecture so I was looking for a property that is contemporary but in a way that will stand the test of time and I think Rize will ... it will also be great to have a central pad in Richmond,” Deledio said.

Director of Sales and Marketing at Hamton, Mr Cameron Yates, said the Richmond players were enthusiastic about their investments and are eagerly awaiting the completion of the project in 2008.

“We were delighted that two intelligent young players were keen to purchase within the suburb they represent as a team. Both purchases were well considered and their due diligence was exhaustive. It shows they have a good eye for property”, Mr Yates said. He said the growing Hamton team were enjoying a strong football atmosphere this year after welcoming new staff member and ex-Melbourne football player, Andrew Leoncelli, to their development team.

Leoncelli played 146 games for Melbourne Football Club from 1996 to 2003 and was Deputy Vice Captain between 1998 and 2003.  Since retiring from football, he has worked as a senior tax consultant with Ernst and Young / Dominion and for a privately owned property development firm in Sydney. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and a Bachelor of Commerce, from the University of Melbourne.

Joint Managing Director, Steve Buxton said that he is very pleased with the new appointment.

“ Andrew’s experience in both finance and property development will be a wonderful asset to Hamton as it continues to expand under the direction of myself and Joint Managing Director, Paul Hameister, with a range of exciting new projects in the pipeline for release later this year and early next year,” Steve Buxton said.
