Hamton and Macquarie Acquire Former Coburg High School Site
Award-winning Melbourne–based property developer Hamton, in a joint venture with Macquarie Real Estate Equity Fund No 7, today announced its acquisition of the former Coburg High School site on Bell Street in Coburg for an undisclosed sum.
8km north of the Melbourne CBD, the 1.2 hectare residential-zoned site is located adjacent to a major parkland and leisure and aquatic centre and is less than 200 metres from the busy Sydney Road retail strip, with its supermarket, shops, cafes and the Coburg railway station, bus and tram hubs.
Significantly, the site also falls within the Coburg Principal Activity Centre (under Melbourne 2030 policy) and is one of just four major private land holdings within the recently announced Coburg Initiative.
Hamton and Macquarie settle on the site in June this year.
